About this role

POSITION SUMMARY:

In this role, we will have an aspiring professional to be our Human Resources Intern. This role will learn the ins-and-outs of the HR department. While learning and gaining HR experience is the primary concern in this role, you also perform a variety of administrative duties, such as posting job listings to help with recruiting efforts, sitting in on interviews, open enrollment, compliance, employee engagement and communications, job descriptions, internship program, as well as helping new employees with onboarding, references etc). Our ideal applicant is currently completing a degree in (HR or business administration).

 

While you will perform necessary tasks to assist our HR department, Jordans Furniture is prepared to invest in each intern’s future with hands on learning and development to ensure the best experience for our future J-team!

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Complete various administrative duties as needed

•Projects such as: Enhance and execute Driving Record Process

•Create Playbook for New Store expansions!

•Assist with implementation of Paperless File system

•Coordinate and assist with Open Enrollment with Benefits team

•Post job listings on job boards and social media platforms while re-imagining our context in job description postings and assist with implementing a job description database

•Assist with implementation of newly enhance handbook

•Assist with interviews and employee onboarding

•Help keep the HR office organized and efficient by giving out of the box thinking and creativity with fresh perspective

Junior/Senior College Student

Passionate about their related field

Currently pursuing a degree in human resources or business administration

Strong organizational skills

Excellent communication abilities

Reception or administrative experience a plus

Support any other function, responsibility or opportunity as assigned.

 

EDUCATION: 

High School

 

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

List additional job-related qualifications that are necessary to perform the job competently, such as technical skills, industry experience, product knowledge, administrative requirements, etc.

●Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or equivalent

●3+ years experience in consumer marketing or retail

●Excellent written communication skills and copywriting skills

●Strong organizational and project management skills with ability to multitask in a tight deadline environment

●Experience with content creation systems such as Photoshop, Video Editing (Premier), Canva, Illustrator, Rush, etc.

●Analytical curiosity and ability to balance creativity with data

●Experience with publishing tools (Sprout, Hootsuite, Sprinkler) and campaign manager tools (Facebook Business Manager, Campaign Manager, Google Advertising)

●Experience with digital analytics and dashboard visualization (Google Analytics, etc.)

●Excellent problem solving and resourcefulness

●Ability to work in a team environment with people of various backgrounds, personality traits and levels of authority

●Strong interpersonal and communication skills

●Effective relationship building skills

●Must be able to read and communicate effectively in English
