We are searching for the best talent for Experienced Buyer/Planner to support our MedTech Orthopedics business​ in Grecia, Costa Rica.

Purpose:

Reporting to the Senior Buyer / Planner, the Experienced Buyer / Planner will be a core member of the production planning & inventory management team. They will have responsibility for service and inventory related to their product portfolio and be responsible for organizing and prioritizing their goals and objectives in line with business strategy.

This role is crucial for collaborating with Global Planning Teams to assess and consolidate direct materials supply demand, manage supply risks with external suppliers and business partners, and escalate significant issues to senior stakeholders to mitigate short- and medium-term supply challenges.

This role will be a key user of the site ERP system. This may involve testing and ensuring all necessary transactions are operational, working with the IT teams to develop the system, and the training of team members.

You will be responsible for:

In accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson, procedures and guidelines, this position:

  • Responsible for the effective coordination of the supply planning, purchasing and production scheduling activities for product portfolio.
  • Balance on time supply to customers.
  • Management of raw material and component supply to support Operations. Monitors production planning system with relevant performance metrics e.g. schedule attainment, lead time.
  • Establishes production plan and in association with VS partner, ensures timely completion of planned production.
  • Analyses product demand, sales patterns, and forecasts, as well as production specifications and plant and supplier capacity data.
  • Reviews capacity loads to identify potential manufacturing constraints. Works with Operations, Engineering and Quality partners to resolve and mitigate potential supply challenges.
  • Key members of relevant New Product launch teams.
  • Identifies partners and establishes effective communication plans across various groups such as customers, commercial partners, suppliers, global supply chain and site departments.
  • Balances and/or maintains raw material inventory investment per inventory entitlement models and drives improvement opportunities.
  • Supplier performance management: measurement, identification of performance issues and collaboration to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Supports evaluation of potential new suppliers.
  • Leads site RCCP review for relevant VS.
  • Leads supplier or component S&OP and supplier RCCP as required.
  • Responsible for communicating business-related issues or opportunities to next management level
  • Is responsible for following all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices as applicable.
  • For those who supervise or manage a staff, is responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable
  • Is responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Performs other duties assigned as needed

Qualifications / Requirements:

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • University bachelor’s degree in Engineering, supply chain management, Logistics & transportation, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years’ experience in a production planning environment.
  • 2-4 years’ experience with SAP, JDE XE or other ERP systems with knowledge of key planning parameters.
  • Experience in medical device operations/cGMP environment highly desirable
  • Confirmed ability to connect with other functions on projects that involve collaboration with cross-functional peers and senior management.
  • Knowledge of and experience in applying Six Sigma and Lean methodologies.
  • Problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to develop communications that are accurately structured providing clear, concise messages that draw well supported conclusions.
  • Understanding of Health, Safety and legal requirements for the safe operation of their team.

  • Fluent in English and Spanish.

  • Must be proactive, self-motivated, and have a demonstrated ability to follow assignments through to completion
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP/SAP EWM or similar (JDE, Oracle, WMS, IMs)
