Sales Executive – Defence Sector - Navy (new building) - APAC

Joining the Sales Team as a Sales Executive, you will be the face of Johnson Controls towards our customers, and you will focus on always delivering excellent value and service with integrity.

What you will do

As a Front-Line Sales Executive within Johnson Controls’ Global Marine, you will be responsible for driving sales growth within the Navy segment, targeting large Surface and Sub-Surface assets. Your primary focus will be on building and managing relationships with shipyards, vessel owners, and operators across selected territories in APAC. You will promote Johnson Controls’ portfolio of HVAC, fire safety, Security, and integrated control solutions, ensuring alignment with customer needs and marine compliance standards.

Location:

You will be based at our office in the Asia, enabling frequent visits to clients. Travel is expected to be around 20-30 days annually.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan targeting the Naval market, with a focus on newbuilds contracts.
  • Build strong relationships with shipyards, naval architects, vessel owners, and operators to position Johnson Controls as a trusted partner.

Candidate Profile:

We are seeking a self-motivated professional who excels both as an individual and within a team. You should possess:

  • Proven track record in B2B sales, preferably within the marine, shipbuilding, or maritime equipment sectors.
  • Extensive experience in international sales, with a specific focus on new build projects within the Defence Segment
  • Strong understanding of the Naval ship ecosystems, including key players, procurement cycles, and technical requirements.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently and travel internationally as required.
  • Technical background or familiarity with HVAC, fire safety, security or automation systems is a plus.
  • A degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written, with additional languages being a plus due to the international scope of the role.
  • Proficent in CRM Management (Salesforce preffered).
