This position is eligible for a flexible work schedule arrangement at the present time. The arrangement may be delayed for training or other job acclimation purposes and remains subject to change. 

Your Responsibilities

 

As a Quality Engineer for JD Waterloo Works (Tractor Operations) located in Waterloo, IA, you will:

 

• Identify quality improvement opportunities and lead continuous improvement projects aligned to 8R departmental goals
• Manage and maintain production quality control plans, including inspector work content, managing AVI cameras, and MES control plan steps
• Support and lead cross functional teams to resolve quality issues and drive systemic improvements
• Assist with investigation and resolution of warranty, DTAC, and customer field issues
• Foster a positive, engaged work environment through communication, involvement, and strong follow through

What Skills You Need

 

•  Strong analytical and problem solving skills, including PFMEA understanding, root cause analysis, and risk mitigation capability
•  Ability to interpret and improve inspection/quality control plans and manufacturing processes
•  Effective communication skills to work with Operators, NWGs, ME, Production Supervisors, and leadership
•  Strong personal accountability, follow through, and ability to foster a positive, engaged team environment

What Makes You Standout

 

•  Experience leading cross functional teams and driving continuous improvement initiatives
•  Ability to train and coach operators on quality expectations, methods, and process changes
•  Technical competency with statistical tools (e.g., Minitab) and vision/monitoring systems (Keyence, Cognex)

Education

Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Technology, or similar discipline
