Título: PL Software Engineer (Mainframe & AWS) - Indaiatuba/SP - 117468
As a PL Cloud and Data Platform Engineer at John Deere Financial in Indaiatuba/SP, you will work with a team of engineers and architects to design, build, and support cloud-based and database solutions for financial services applications. In addition, you will:
Main Responsibilities
- Engage as a technical consultant on mainframe and database technology solutions, supporting complex and mission-critical business requirements in a hybrid environment;
- Design, develop, deploy, and maintain DB2 for z/OS and enterprise database solutions, ensuring performance, availability, security, and compliance,
- Partner with application delivery, infrastructure, security, governance, and compliance teams to support mainframe-based and hybrid environments, aligned with JDF’s architecture strategy
- Maintain strong collaboration with application teams to evolve database and mainframe capabilities, including modernization and integration initiatives with cloud platforms,
- Ensure reusability, efficiency, and stability in the design, build, and support of mainframe and database infrastructure;
- Perform performance tuning, capacity planning, and cost optimization for DB2 and enterprise database environments;
- Apply and evolve best practices, standards, and controls for mainframe, database, and hybrid platforms;
- Support monitoring, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and prevention of issues in DB2, mainframe, and supporting infrastructure;
- Evaluate new tools, technologies, and practices related to database management, mainframe modernization, and hybrid architectures (including AWS).
Skills You Need
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Analysis and Development, or related fields;
- Advanced English: broad vocabulary, good grammar, conducts meetings, argues, negotiates, and delivers training sessions;
- Strong experience analyzing and translating business requirements into database and mainframe technical solutions;
- Solid experience with DB2 (preferably DB2 for z/OS), including administration, performance tuning, and SQL optimization;
- Strong mastery of SQL tuning and performance optimization;
- Experience working in mission-critical, high-availability environments;
- Understanding of application development environments, data management, and infrastructure constraints in enterprise systems;
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy;
- Ability to provide technical leadership and mentor teams;
- Experience with AWS (compute, security, storage, etc.) and hybrid cloud integration is important;
- Availability to work in a hybrid model, 2 times a week, in Indaiatuba/SP.
What Makes You Stand Out
- Hands-on experience administering and optimizing DB2 databases on z/OS or other mainframe platforms;
- Experience with mainframe modernization initiatives, integrations, or coexistence with cloud platforms;
- Proven experience with high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity for enterprise databases.
- Advanced experience in database performance tuning at scale;
- Experience with database migrations involving legacy or enterprise platforms;
- Familiarity with CI/CD and automation tools applied to database environments (Jenkins, GitHub, etc.);
- Certifications related to DB2, database administration, or enterprise systems;
- AWS certifications (AWS Certified Database – Specialty, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, etc.) as a strong plus, supporting the hybrid environment.
