Overview

Joby Aviation is seeking a highly organized, self motivated, detail-oriented shop coordinator/operations assistant to help support the Composite Rapid Development team. This role plays a critical part in enabling rapid prototyping, testing, and development activities by ensuring materials, tools, and consumables are always available, inventoried, maintained, and safely transported across facilities. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced R&D shop environment, demonstrating a strong commitment to safety, organization, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain material, tooling, and equipment inventory for CRD shop operations
  • Order, receive, stock, and track shop consumables and supplies
  • Transport materials, tooling, and flight hardware between Joby Aviation facilities
  • Ability to build/assemble CRD shop aides as well perform light shop modifications, comfortable with light carpentry using hand tools and power tools
  • Operate a forklift and other material-handling equipment as required
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop and storage environment
  • Comply with all safety, quality, and operational policies

Required

  • HS Diploma or GED Equivalent 
  • High level of organization and attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced shop environment
  • Experienced working with hand tools and power tools, carpentry skills
  • Experienced with loading and securing sensitive oversized cargo for transport on flatbed and box trucks as well as trailers
  • Ability to operate a forklift (certification preferred or ability to obtain)
  • Valid driver’s license with the ability to transport materials between facilities
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs aided or unaided throughout the day

Desired

  • Experience supporting R&D, aerospace, aviation, or advanced manufacturing environments
  • Inventory management, material coordination, or tooling support experience
  • Familiarity with prototype or experimental hardware handling

Additional Information

The target base pay for this position is $30-$38/hour. The compensation package will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
