Job Description

Summary:


Join a newly founded company driven by passion – for coffee, for quality, and for people.

We're looking for a true leader to head our Quality Department, playing a key role in shaping standards and processes in close collaboration with our Trade team, roaster partners, and trusted coffee suppliers.

Based in the heart of Bremen – one of Europe’s leading coffee hubs – this is a unique opportunity to influence quality at the source and make your mark in a company that values expertise, integrity, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for receiving incoming green coffee samples
  • Prepare and ensure timely dispatch of samples to our customers
  • Provide support to the trading team by cupping and grading coffees in accordance with company procedures and business requirements
  • Sample roasting for client requests and cupping sessions according to our roasting standards
  • Set up and break down of cupping tables according to industry standards
  • Keeping the quality lab clean and organized
  • Monitoring inventory and equipment
  • Registering incoming samples and keep proper documentation and records for all transactions
  • Participating in cupping sessions
  • Physical grading of green coffee samples
  • Assist sales team and customers with quality related questions
  • Calibrating, maintaining and updating customer specs
  • Support Sales team in food safety and compliance matters including certifications, audits, documentation and related questionnaire

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Excellent organization skills and record keeping
  • Attention to detail
  • Dynamic mindset and strong communication skills
     

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the coffee industry
  • Previous experience in coffee quality control or sensory analysis– Q Grader certification is a plus
  • Sample roasting experience is preferred
  • Experience in sales or other customer-facing role is an advantage
     

Technical Skills:

  • Microsoft Office
  • Tools for Quality assessment
  • Understanding of exporter country quality standards & procedures
     

Languages:

  • Proficiency in German and English
