About Our Unit

The ED Observation Unit is a 20-bed observation unit and is located at Jefferson Einstein Hospital in Philadelphia PA .

Schedule Commitment

Schedules are available 6 weeks in advance. The work schedule commitment for this position requires the following:

• Must be able to work twelve (12) hour shifts
• Only Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturday's only
• Must be able to work every third (3rd) weekend
• Holiday commitment consists of 1 holiday per season
   

Responsibilities

 Reporting to the Nurse Manager, Unit Secretary will perform various clerical responsibilities on nursing units including:
 

• Provides support to the nurse manager with reports, data, and special assignments.
• Transcribes physician orders for medications, diets, treatments, etc.
• Coordinate errands as directed/necessary for the department
• Prepare, comply, and maintain patient records
   

Qualifications

To qualify as Unit Secretary, you must meet the following requirements for consideration:
 

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Six (6) months of clerical experience
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
