Revenue Cycle Posting Representative

Job Description

The Posting Representative is responsible for posting payments and adjustments received daily, to patient accounts and reconciling incoming patient payments via lockbox, Electronic Fund Transfer and live check.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.

· Posts payments and adjustments to patient accounts in a timely manner.

· Conducts payment research for other Jefferson departments and third-party vendor partners.

· Assist with scanning and indexing of payment information and patient correspondence for proper filing.

Assists in recording general ledger and inter-departmental payment transactions.

· Posts and documents unidentified patient or insurance payments.

· Records and posts all live checks and delivers to supervisor or manager for bank deposit.

· Serves as back-up to all hospital cashiers performing all duties including, but not limited to, accepting, receipting and posting patient payments; receiving and logging deposits from other departments; and hand off to courier.

· When applicable, contacts insurance companies for payment and patient information to help identify payments which cannot be applied to a specific patient account.

· Maintains productivity and quality requirements as defined by departmental policy.

· Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

· Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
