The North America market now represents c.40% of JD Group revenues across our 4 main fascia – JD Finish Line, Hibbett, Shoe Palace and DTLR. 

The JD Group Internal Audit Team was formed in 2023, following the delivery of significant governance improvements within the JD Group. The role holder will have a unique opportunity to be part of a new Internal Audit function for the North American market.

Reporting to the Director of Internal Audit – JD North America, the Technology Audit Manager for JD North America will assist in the completion of the annual audit and assurance plan. This role will consider all areas of the Technology Environment including Core IT Processes, IT Service providers, Information Security, and Technology Infrastructure, as well as Data Privacy and Program Management. They will also work closely with our co-source partners and perform ad-hoc risk advisory reviews as the need arises.

This role requires outstanding communication skills, and the ability to convey complex Technology concepts to a non-technical audience. This individual should effectively exhibit JD Sports core values of Customer, People, Winning, Community, and Financial Responsibility in everything they do. The Technology Audit Manager will be expected to:

Responsibilities-

  • Have experience of audit and advisory in a wide variety of technology and security topics. Cyber security experience would be beneficial.

  • Demonstrate the ability to understand emerging technologies, evaluate their control implications, and assess associated operational, security, and compliance risks to inform audit planning and recommendations.

  • Plan, perform, review and manage technology related internal audit fieldwork, including preparing and reviewing internal audit reports.

  • Lead opening and closing meetings with stakeholders and auditees.

  • Communicate audit results and findings to senior management, providing actionable recommendations to mitigate risks.

  • Ensure remediation actions are communicated clearly and are followed up regularly

  • Assist the North America – Director of Internal Audit and Group Head of Technology Assurance with the annual audit planning process and other ad-hoc assignments.

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with management and second line functions.

  • Keep up to date with evolving governance and compliance requirements.

  • Ensure compliance with the company’s code of conduct, ethics, and governance policies.

  • Additional duties and projects as required.

Required Education and/or Experience-

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Information Systems, Accounting, Computer Science or related field.

  • A minimum 5+ years of work experience obtained with a public accounting firm or equivalent internal audit experience with a global company, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Professional Certification such as CISA, CISSP, CPA, CIA, or similar qualification is preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of IT standards and control frameworks.

  • Exceptional analytical, investigative, and documentation skills with strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage multiple audits simultaneously across different regions and project types.

  • In addition to a range of experience in auditing business processes, this role requires outstanding communication skills both written and oral, and the ability to build relationships up to the Executive level.

  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 25%, including some international travel.
