Position Purpose

This position is responsible for supporting all fabrication processes as well as assisting with product improvements and process developments in the Fabrication Department.  The incumbent is expected to remain updated on operation and basic troubleshooting technology of all fabrication processes and machine tools. 

 

Major Tasks, Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities

  • Lead the team in a production environment
  • Ensure all operator preventative maintenance procedures are completed as scheduled and maintain Preventative Maintenance logs
  • Execute specified preventative maintenance procedures
  • Maintain inventory of spare parts and consumables on all processes and machine tools
  • Facilitate and monitor training programs
  • Able to create and maintain downtime logs, error logs, etc.
  • Continually strive to improve process quality and efficiency
  • Participate in problem solving and cost reduction projects as assigned
  • Must post quality, cost, delivery and safety metrics
  • Ability to sustain Assembly Department
  • Ability to backfill for direct production duties as necessary

 

Nature & Scope

Reports to Fabrication Group Leader.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must pass any drug screens, background checks and any pre-employments tests as applicable.
  • High school diploma
  • Three years of experience in fabrication manufacturing environment

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or Diploma in Welding Technology
  • 1 – 3 years in a leadership role
  • Five years of experience in fabrication in a related industry

  • Ability to be flexible in a fast-paced environment; available for overtime
  • Ability to operate the following equipment: CO2 Lasers, CNC Bending Presses, Welding Robots and CNC Machining Centers, Manual and Semi-Auto Welding Processes (SMAW, GMAW, GTAW)
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment as required

  • Both office environment and occasionally manufacturing/factory environment
  • Subject to noise and temperature changes

  • Must be able to work flexible schedule, including but not limited to 12-hour shifts/7 days a week
  • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10lbs, frequently and/or move up to 35lbs, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50lbs
  • Must be able to perform continuous, repetitious physical activities.  These activities may involve fine movements or large motions
  • Must be able to grasp/pinch small items, reach out and up, and turn wrist
  • Must be capable of keeping pace with current production speed
  • Must be able to push/pull with reasonable force
  • Must be able to perform the following requirements of bending, stooping, climbing, kneeling, and standing for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to work in multiple climates including hot/cold temperatures, and dusty environment
