Position Purpose

This position is responsible for performing all operations and overall 5S needs within the Paint Shop. 

 

Major Tasks, Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities

  • Perform labor operations such as loading/unloading of the paint line using the manipulators or forklifts
  • Operate hand tools to demask product
  • Learn how to maintain the pretreatment and E-coat operations
  • Learn and apply proper powder coating techniques
  • Apply Continuous Improvement Tools and Techniques to improve inspection methods
  • Apply Problem Solving Tools and Techniques in an effort to assist Manufacturing in the elimination of defects
  • Other duties as assigned 

 

Nature & Scope

Reports to Paint Supervisor 

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must pass any drug screens, background checks and any pre-employments tests as applicable.
  • High school diploma
  • One year of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with a forklift

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three years of experience with paint in a manufacturing environment 
  • Forklift certification 

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Competencies

  • Knowledge and ability to operate a forklift
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills
  • Detail oriented and self-motivated
  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining a sense of urgency
  • Flexibility with work activities; available for overtime
  • Ability to operate pneumatic or various hand tools and forklift or other equipment as needed
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment as required

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:

  • Must be able to work the weekend schedule: Friday, Saturday and Sunday 6am - 6pm
  • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10lbs, frequently and/or move up to 35lbs, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50lbs.
  • Must be able to perform continuous, repetitious physical activities.  These activities may involve fine movements or large motions.
  • Must be able to grasp/pinch small items, reach out and up, and turn wrist.
  • Must be capable of keeping pace with current production speed.
  • Must be able to push/pull with reasonable force.
  • Must be able to perform the following requirements of bending, stooping, climbing, kneeling, and standing for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to work in multiple climates including hot/cold temperatures, and dusty environment.
