Position Overview

Responsible for purchasing components, Online orders, and raw materials, negotiating best pricing, reducing supplier lead times and maintaining most optimal inventory positions.

Working with Project Management and Procurement Team to aid in providing quotes on medium-large size spot buys, material packages and/or Mill Runs.

Job Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Respond to system generated messages timely by issuing purchase orders from JD Edwards in the 24 to 48 Hours window.
• Follow up with vendors for order acknowledgement / update JDE system with Supplier acknowledged lead-times.
• Check in with Supplier placed purchase orders to verify on time delivery / or pushouts.
• Prepare and solicit RFQs. Analyse and evaluate quotations and offerings to determine the most competitive solution relative to Quality, Delivery and Cost.
• Update the RM Tracker for the parts to quoted.
• Setup Labor cost developed by the quoting team.
• Develop and enhance processes, systems and reporting capabilities to drive efficiencies in providing Procurement services
• Familiar with and able to execute a variety of purchasing concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Responsible for all Component & Online purchases.
• Ensure that purchasing documentation is processed completely, accurately, and timely.
• Help with quoting and estimating in general as well as working with sales teams and project management on specialty or large opportunities for a widespread scope of quotes and capabilities
• Creates supplier performance reviews.
• Willingness to work overtime as required.
• Additional duties as required.

Job Skill Requirements:

• Understanding of Supply Chain configuration and principles
• Knowledge of MPS/MRP/ERP systems (JDE experience is a plus)
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical skills

Education

• 2 years Relevant work experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering (Degree / Diploma) with relevant work experience will be an add advantage

Skills & Abilities:

Computer Skills:

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel

• Previous experience of working with JDE / SAP / Infor LN
