Position Summary
The Assistant to the Dean of Students / Health Aide provides essential administrative, student support, and basic health services to ensure a safe, organized, and supportive school environment. This dual-role position supports the efficient operation of the Dean’s Office while also assisting with student health needs under established school protocols. The role requires professionalism, discretion, strong organization, and the ability to work calmly with students in both behavioral and health-related situations.
Key Responsibilities
Dean of Students Administrative Support
Provide comprehensive clerical and administrative support to the Dean of Students
Manage office operations including correspondence, scheduling appointments, and coordinating meetings
Maintain accurate and confidential student discipline and behavior records in Infinite Campus
Prepare and distribute reports, notices, and official documents related to student conduct
Serve as a welcoming point of contact for students, staff, and parents seeking assistance
Handle inquiries from students and families in a professional, timely manner
Assist with coordination of student programs, orientations, meetings, and activities overseen by the Dean’s Office
Support enforcement of school policies and student conduct expectations alongside general staff
Maintain office supply inventory and perform general clerical duties (filing, scanning, data entry, note-taking)
Health Aide Support
Provide basic first aid and care for students with minor illnesses or injuries
Monitor students who feel unwell and determine appropriate next steps per school procedures
Assist with medication administration and student health plans under nurse or administrative direction
Maintain accurate health office documentation while protecting student confidentiality
Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student health needs when appropriate
Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked health office
Assist with emergency response and student safety procedures as needed
Qualifications
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
Calm, professional demeanor when working with students
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced school environment
Experience working with students preferred
Teaching certification preferred but not required
CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
