Job Summary
Web Developer 2 oversees an Internet web development project from concept to completion. Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of designated project to ensure that goals or objectives of project are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Reviews Web/Internet based development project proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project.
- Provides in-depth discussions on crucial topics between users and Web Development Group to determine the goals and scope of a Web project, develop a Web site development cycle that is appropriate for a project, and meet quality assurance standards.
- Suggests methods to improve area operations, processes, efficiency, and service to both internal and external users.
- Utilizes a pre-launch review with management and users to spot potential problems.
- Defines options for risk reduction.
- Identifies innovative ways to transform current applications to the Web, making maximum use of emerging technologies.
- Establishes measurable work plan and staffing for each phase of project, and arranges for recruitment or assignment of project personnel.
- Confers with project staff to outline plan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority to create a team culture that supports project success.
- Confers with department heads to ensure timelines are realistic and accurate.
- Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
- Uses creativity and a high degree of technical and professional judgment in order to resolve software problems in non-routine situations.
- Maintains effective, thorough communication through all levels of development, with users, team, and management.
- Ensures Web/Internet interfaces are fully tested prior to operational turnover.
- Tracks weekly status by reviewing status reports prepared by project personnel and modifies schedules or plans as required.
- Prepares project reports for management and users.
- Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems.
- Resolves team conflicts and avoids potential problems.
- Communicates clearly and directly with employees concerning performance expectations, productivity, and accountability.
- Develops employees for further advancement when possible.
- May coordinate project activities with activities of government, regulatory, or other agencies.
- Completes other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
Experience
- Generally requires 3 to 5 years of related experience.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred.
Skills:
- Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work accurately while meeting multiple deadlines.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
- Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composure.
- Ability to understand and follow instructions.
