Job Summary:
The Trauma Registry Information Specialist provides advanced administrative and data management support to the Trauma Program. This position is responsible for collecting, abstracting, entering, validating, and analyzing clinical data related to trauma patients in compliance with the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Trauma Quality Improvement Program (TQIP), American Burn Association (ABA), state and agency requirements, and hospital policies. The role ensures the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and confidentiality of data used for performance improvement (PI), benchmarking, education, research, and trauma center verification. The incumbent collaborates with internal stakeholders to resolve data discrepancies, maintain auditability of submissions, and support organizational decision-making where registry outputs have administrative and financial impact, while handling sensitive information with discretion.

Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work accurately while meeting multiple deadlines. Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form. Knowledge and skill in use of job appropriate technology and software applications. Must meet and maintain current all unit specific and organizational skills/competencies, certifications/licensures, as required by the nursing area.
Credentials
Valid Florida Registered Nurse (RN) OR Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license required; formal training in Health Information Management (ART) strongly preferred.
