Job Summary:

Under general supervision, this position is responsible for the research, planning, design, development, maintenance, and optimization of corporate database systems. The Database Engineer will monitor database and related system health, enhance performance, troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, and automate routine and advanced operational tasks. This role also includes designing and deploying new database solutions, managing changes to existing systems, and ensuring high levels of availability, security, and reliability. The position actively mentors junior team members and contributes to establishing best practices across the database engineering team.

Job Description:

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain automation solutions using Python, PowerShell, and Azure DevOps pipelines.
• Design and implement processes that support operational activities for the database engineering team.
• Define, create, and maintain database documentation and metrics related to configuration, performance, and support.
• Diagnose and resolve highly complex database issues; participate in the team’s on‑call rotation.
• Research, evaluate, and implement new database technologies; plan and execute database software upgrades.
• Architect and implement automation for routine DBA tasks to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Collaborate with application development teams to optimize complex SQL statements and provide specialized database expertise and training.
• Maintain and tune database systems to ensure high performance, availability, and operational excellence

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualification

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or foreign equivalent.

Experience:

• 5 years of experience in Database Administration or Database Engineering.

Technical Skills (5+ years with):

• Database Platform(s): SQL Server, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, DB2, Google BigQuery
• Database Skills: SQL DDL/DML, performance tuning and query optimization, backup and recovery strategies
• DevOps / Automation: Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines
• Scripting & Tools: Python, PowerShell

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.  This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company’s bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.
