About this role

Website designer (Webflow) - Direct Acquisition

Hybrid in London

The company

Small businesses move fast. Opportunities often don’t wait, and cash flow pressures can appear overnight. To keep going, and growing, SMEs need finance that’s as flexible and responsive as they are.

That's why we built iwoca. Our smart technology, data science and five-star customer service ensures business owners can act with the speed, confidence and control they need, exactly when it's needed.

We’ve already cleared the way for 100,000 businesses with more than £4 billion in funding. Our passionate team is driven to help even more SMEs succeed, through access to better finance and other services that make running a business easier. Our ultimate mission is to support one million SMEs in their defining moments, creating lasting impact for the communities and economies they drive.

The team

The Brand team sits within the wider Direct Acquisition team, which also includes sales and marketing. The Brand team is relatively new and is tasked with ensuring we show up consistently, with authority and credibility. It’s also responsible for creating demand at the top of the funnel, as well as empowering marketing, sales, and the wider business.

The role

We’re looking for an experienced website designer to own and steward the visual identity of our customer facing website. This includes ensuring it looks great, showcases our brand, supports our conversion strategy, and reflects our position as one of the UK’s leading fintechs.

You’ll manage and evolve our website design system in Webflow, while also designing ad hoc layouts and one-off pages as needed. You’ll be the go-to person for visual assets, such as images and compositions, that fit seamlessly within our defined website components, ensuring everything is consistent, scalable, and easy to update. You’ll also collaborate closely with the Senior Website Owner and teams across the business to bring our brand to life online.

This role also involves hands-on implementation, so while direct Webflow experience isn’t required, we expect a strong candidate to have a good experience of front-end development principles and to be comfortable bringing systematic designs to life in the platform.

Drive our site’s visual identity

  • Lead the evolution of our website design system, identifying opportunities and turning research into high-fidelity, high-converting digital experiences

  • Design and implement reusable components and templates for Webflow that empower other team members to create their own pages

  • Work with the Senior Website Owner and other channel owners to design pages, components, and visual assets such as images and compositions

Collaboration and growth

  • Tap into the community of iwoca designers and frontend engineers to work on solutions and develop your skill set

  • Work closely with the Head of Brand and Senior Website Owner to ensure all site design projects align with our strategic business goals and individual user needs

  • Bring iwoca’s growing product story to life as we introduce new products and ventures, helping shape how we present our expanding offerings to customers on the website

Example projects

  • Serve visitors across more devices by improving responsiveness

  • Elevate our existing web experience by introducing animation

  • Design a high-impact landing page to support our roadmap of A/B tests

  • Conduct user research and translate the findings into design decisions

  • Design and maintain an exceptional component library that ensures consistency and empowers our wider team to build efficiently

Requirements
Essential:

  • You enjoy creating and maintaining scalable design systems and components, as well as designing one-off pages.

  • You have experience working with a component system and understand how to apply it consistently across a site.

  • You confidently apply creative thinking to responsive layouts, components, and interactions, while grounding your work in solid UI and digital design best practice

  • You have strong collaboration and communication skills and can work effectively with other designers, developers and project managers

  • Familiar with front-end development, including using HTML and CSS.

  • Proficient designing in Figma

    Preferred:

  • Comfortable designing and building components and pages in Webflow

  • Experience working with the Lumos framework

  • Strong understanding of brand positioning and maintaining brand consistency across channels

  • You’re experienced developing accessible designs that work across devices and meet a11y best practices

  • Experience working with content-heavy websites

  • Experience conducting user research and leveraging insights into design decisions

  • Experience with animation and interaction design

  • Experience working in the B2B space
