About this role

Promote a hospitable and welcoming atmosphere in the day room at the Muncie Hub through guest services. This includes greeting guests, staffing the service desk, light cleaning, and general provision of related tasks to support the center. The Muncie Hub serves individuals experiencing homelessness and aims to provide a sense of community, housing resources and supportive services to those in need.

Repsonisbilities and Essential Functions:

  • Assist with data input, management and tracking individual guest services provided.
  • Provide triage to guests in need of community resources and housing services.
  • Provide safe and healthy dayroom services, including shower, laundry, and day room facilities.
  • Perform light cleaning duties to support a safe, clean, and welcoming facility for guests of the service center and tiny homes.
  • Answers phones, refers, and transfers incoming calls to appropriate internal and external resources.
  • Must be able to work kindly and gracefully with others who are dealing with extreme difficulties in their life such as substance abuse, homelessness, mental and physical disabilities.
  • Assist with management and organization of donated supplies and equipment. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Computer experience preferred.

Background Investigation and Drug Testing:

After a “conditional offer of employment” is made, the individual must pass a background investigation, which includes a consumer credit investigation report. Muncie Mission Ministries may request the successful applicant to submit to and pass a drug and /or alcohol test.  This drug and/or alcohol testing may occur any time after the applicant receives a conditional offer of employment.  All employees must sign and adhere to MMM Drug and Alcohol policy and remain free from addiction to drugs and/or alcohol.

Expected Hours:  Monday – Friday 7:45 am – 12:15 pm

To Qualify for our Federal Work Study program students:

Must be authorized to work in the United States

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Students must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours each semester.
• Students must be making Satisfactory Academic Progress as determined by the Financial Aid Office.
• Students must have a current and completed FAFSA on file.
• Student must demonstrate financial need.

Selected candidate for employment will be subject to pre-employment
background checks, including criminal history check, and any offer of employment will be contingent upon that outcome. Official transcripts required upon hiring.
