About this role

Do you love animals, enjoy helping people, and want a role where you’re truly part of the team?

Bishopbriggs Veterinary Centre is looking for a friendly and organised Veterinary Receptionist to join our warm and welcoming practice in Bishopbriggs. This is a key front-of-house role where you’ll be the reassuring voice on the phone, the friendly face at the desk, and an important part of the day-to-day life of the clinic.

No two days are the same here. It’s a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, multitasking, and working as part of a supportive, close-knit team who genuinely care about their clients, patients and each other.

The Role & Working Pattern

We are looking for someone to work 35 hours over 5 days with the shifts being 7 hour days between 8.30am-7.30pm

You’ll be required to work one in four Saturdays (9am-1pm) with a half day back. There will be no requirement to work Sundays or Bank Holidays, making this an excellent option for someone looking for balance alongside a busy and rewarding role.

What the Role Involves

As a Veterinary Receptionist, you’ll be the first point of contact for our clients and their pets, offering a calm, friendly and professional welcome in a busy small animal practice.

Your duties will include managing appointments using our booking system, handling phone calls and enquiries, processing payments, and supporting the smooth running of the front desk. You’ll also assist with general administrative tasks and maintain high standards of cleanliness in client-facing areas. Building product knowledge is part of the role, allowing you to confidently support clients where applicable with their concerns.

About You

We’re looking for someone reliable, approachable and proactive, who enjoys working with both people and animals. You’ll ideally have experience in a receptionist and be comfortable using IT systems, and confident handling payments and discussing fees with clients.

Strong communication skills, good organisation, attention to detail and a genuine interest in animal welfare are key. Most importantly, you’ll be a team player who contributes positively to the atmosphere of the practice.
