As a Senior GP, you'll play a vital role in providing exceptional care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, working alongside a dynamic, multidisciplinary team of passionate clinicians and support staff. You will directly contribute to our mission of providing patient-centered care grounded in Aboriginal Ways of knowing, seeing, doing, and belonging.

What we offer

We offer rewarding work, and a variety of flexible full-time and part-time roles supporting great work-life balance. Our full-time salary packages range from

$302,724 to $314,367 with additional financial and lifestyle benefits you don’t find in many GP practices.

Our GP salary package includes:

  • 4 weeks of annual leave per year (including 17.5% leave loading)
  • 10 days personal leave per year
  • 12% super.
  • Our GPs also have access to additional benefits:
  • Not-for-profit salary packaging to increase your take-home pay
  • Fully reimbursed medical indemnity insurance.

Our clinics are located between relaxed Sunshine Coast and metropolitan Brisbane – a comfortable commute in an increasingly popular lifestyle location.

The region offers a wealth of amenities including excellent schools, public transport, local beaches and waterways, convenient acreage, easy access to the motorway and Gold and Sunshine Coasts and hinterland.

About you

If you’re looking for a more rewarding way of working, to join our team you’ll need:

  • Bachelor of Medicine
  • Current MBBS and unconditional registration with the Medical Board of Australia
  • Current APHRA registration
  • Current Medical indemnity insurance
  • Specialist GP Recognition/ vocational registration
  • Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, or a genuine interest in expanding your skills, knowledge and capability to work in our sector.

About IUIH

The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health (IUIH) leads the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services to the Indigenous population of South East Queensland (SEQ). The Institute was established in 2009 by the four Community Controlled Health Services in SEQ to provide for the needs of Australia's second largest Indigenous population. Using the IUIH Model of Care we are empowering communities in South East Queensland to take responsibility for the delivery of health services to Indigenous Australians, by Indigenous Australians. Today, our network includes IUIH, three of our founding Member organisations and additional IUIH-run services: • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Health Service (ATSICHS) Brisbane Limited • Kalwun Development Corporation Limited (Kalwun Health Service) • Yulu-Burri-Ba Aboriginal Corporation for Community Health • Moreton Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Health Service (MATSICHS) • Pamela Mam Health Centre.
