About Us?

The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd was established by its founding members to provide a coordinated/integrated approach to the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Southeast Qld Region.

The Oral Health service provides a range of oral health care services from IUIH and Member service clinics as well from a fully equipped mobile van, as required.

About the Role?

The purpose of the position is to improve the Oral Health of the community through the delivery of quality dental treatment and support services. The role will provide dental assistance (chair side) and dental administration as well as provide support to the oral health team in service delivery in designated primary clinic locations and outreach services as required. This position will be based predominantly within our South / West region, servicing our dental clinics in Capalaba, North Stradbroke Island

Your day-to-day duties may include:

  • Perform administration duties as required within both a clinical environment and office environment.
  • Accurate and timely entry of client data into relevant PIRS system
  • Provide quality general dental support services to clients during hours of operation of the service, in keeping with accepted best practice standards.
  • Undertake established procedures associated with chair-side assistance.
  • Undertake established procedures associated with practice management.

About You?

  • Current QLD Blue Card
  • Current Criminal History Check or willingness to obtain
  • Current First Aid & CPR Certificates
  • Current C Class Drivers Licence (Qld)

Desirable, but not mandatory:

  • Cert III Qualification in Dental Assisting
  • Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and /or communities

About IUIH

The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health (IUIH) leads the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services to the Indigenous population of South East Queensland (SEQ). The Institute was established in 2009 by the four Community Controlled Health Services in SEQ to provide for the needs of Australia's second largest Indigenous population. Using the IUIH Model of Care we are empowering communities in South East Queensland to take responsibility for the delivery of health services to Indigenous Australians, by Indigenous Australians.
