About Us?

The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd was established by its founding members to provide a coordinated/integrated approach to the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Southeast Qld Region.

IUIH’s Birthing and Early Childhood Services (BECS) aim to support women, infants and families, from preconception and early pregnancy through to early childhood (up to three years of age), to enhance family functioning and promote childhood development and parental wellbeing. Within BECS is the Birthing in Our Community (BiOC) service, the Australian Nurse Family Partnership Program (ANFPP), and the Deadly Fit Mums exercise program. These services and programs operate on both the north and south sides of Brisbane, with hubs at Strathpine and Salisbury.

About the Role?

The position is responsible for the provision of effective and efficient administration and service coordination to contribute to the achievement of Salisbury Mums and Bubs Clinic business objectives, including increased practice patient numbers, attendance rates, transport logistics and billings.

Your day-to-day duties include:

  • Implement practices to achieve high booking and attendance rates for multi-disciplinary service provider appointments
  • Contribute to the development and ongoing refinement of referral and follow-up pathways between local clinics and Multi-disciplinary service providers
  • Support Medical Reception where needed to Maximise all billing opportunities for all appointments – i.e. MBS, CCSS, Workcover.
  • Check eligibilities and ensure referrals are in place for clients accessing multi-disciplinary services.
  • Coordinate patient registrations and maintain patient contact details
  • Conduct regular reviews of calendars to ensure billing opportunities have been maximised

About You?

  • Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD)
  • Current Criminal History Check

Desirable, but not mandatory:

  • Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and /or communities
