Sr. Lead Financial Analyst

We are seeking a high‑caliber, experienced financial professional with a strong foundation in accounting, inventory, and asset management, advanced analytical skills, and the ability to engage confidently across clinical, operational, and executive stakeholders. In this role, you will coordinate closely with the system financial team to deliver actionable financial insight and ensure strong forecasting, reporting, and accounting discipline across a complex healthcare environment.
This position requires someone who can stand up and lead, communicate effectively, and go above and beyond to support IU Health’s financial integrity and operational success.

Shift: Full-time, Monday-Friday, hybrid schedule; travel required during inventory periods
The Scope: Supporting System Financial Operations & Decision‑Making
The Sr. Lead Financial Analyst plays a critical role in supporting IU Health’s system financial operations, with a strong emphasis on accounting processes, inventory oversight, asset and liability tracking, and financial reporting. This role supports approximately $36M in annual spend and works closely with hospital teams, Corporate Real Estate, and clinical leadership to ensure financial accuracy and operational alignment.
While not a traditional pure accounting role, this position requires a strong understanding of accounting fundamentals, particularly related to inventory, assets, liabilities, and forecasting, and the ability to translate that information into meaningful insights that support both strategic and operational decision‑making.
Candidate Qualifications

Key Responsibilities: Strategic & Accounting – Driven Execution
System Financial Coordination: Coordinate and support the system finance team in delivering actionable information, including financial analysis, reporting, and pro forma development, to support operational and strategic decision‑making.
Accounting Oversight: Oversee and support accounting processes that flow through hospitals and related assets, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and appropriate financial controls.
Forecasting & Economic Analysis: Ensure forecasting is performed effectively and accurately; develop analysis of economic indicators to assess IU Health’s short, medium‑, and long‑term financial position.
Inventory Management: Lead and support mid‑year and periodic inventory counts, coordinating with a large, cross‑functional group to ensure proper execution and documentation.
Asset & Spend Tracking: Monitor and analyze asset and liability activity and approximately $36M in spend, ensuring financial transparency and accountability.
Financial Reporting & Insight: Interpret financial and operational data related to costs, prices, expenses, revenues, and clinical or operational measures, developing clear recommendations for senior management.
Advanced Analytics: Leverage advanced Excel capabilities (including Power Query) to enhance reporting efficiency, improve data visibility, and support complex analysis.
Consultative Partnership: Provide analytical and consultative support to departmental, service line, and clinical leaders, helping teams solve problems and understand financial implications.
Leadership & Initiative: Serve as an informal leader on complex initiatives, coordinating across stakeholders, supporting peers, and consistently going above and beyond to deliver results.
