About this role

Provides technical knowledge of mechanical or electrical engineering as a problem solver, troubleshooter, project manager and engineering resource. Identifies issues and develops and executes projects to improve the reliability of utilities, equipment and systems within the hospital. Manages the development and implementation of methods and systems to improve overall efficiency and effectiveness of services and functions. Writes specifications and standards in accordance with existing local, state and national codes and standards. Provides functional supervision and guidance to Facilities staff and administration with a focus on developing technical knowledge.
• Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent years of experience.
• Certification as a Healthcare Facilities Manager (CHFM) is preferred.
• Requires advanced knowledge of mechanical or electrical utilities, equipment and systems.
• Requires advanced knowledge of plant engineering and maintenance activities.
• Requires the ability to develop schematics and write specifications.
• Requires current knowledge of various federal, state, local, OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) and Joint Commission codes and regulations.
• Requires a minimum of 8 years relevant experience.
