Information Services Expert Developer

Indiana University Health is seeking individuals who embody these values to join our IS Enterprise Analytics team in the role of Information Services Expert Developer.
Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs new and existing software systems and/or applications for internal use under limited supervision. Serves as the expert technical resource on development projects. Participates in full development life cycle including requirements analysis and design. Writes technical specifications based on conceptual design and stated business requirements. Supports, maintains, and documents software functionality. Identifies and evaluates new technologies for implementation. Analyzes code to find causes of errors and revise programs as needed. Participates in software design meetings and analyze user needs to determine technical requirements. Consults with end user to prototype, refine, test, and debug programs to meet needs. Provides subject matter expertise in complex database query skills such as SSIS, SRS, Stored Procedures or other complex queries to provide technical and business teams with requested data. Serves as the subject matter expert to coach and mentor team members and leaders to feel equipped with the new knowledge and skills to remain current.
This is a hybrid role with 1-2 days per month onsite at Gateway Plaza.

Candidate Qualifications
Candidates for the position will be evaluated according to the following criteria and competencies.
• Master's degree preferred.
•10+ years of experience or ability to demonstrate commensurable level of experience.
• Requires strong analytical and communication skills.
• Must have an expert level of experience in at least one high-level language such as C#, C++ or Java.
• Requires database experience such as Oracle, SQL Server, etc. Must have advanced experience with at least one ORM tool, preferably Entity Framework.
Preferred Qualifications:
-Experience in implementing and deploying big data applications
-Experience with Apache Spark, Cloud Composer/Apache Airflow, Dataflow/Apache Beam, Big Query
-Must have hands-on expertise in Python and/or Java/Scala; SQL proficiency preferred as well
-Experience with Observational Medical Outcomes Partnership (OMOP) Common Data
-Experience with structured Enterprise Architecture practices, hybrid cloud deployments, and on-premise-to-cloud migration deployments and roadmaps
-Knowledge of common healthcare data exchange formats (e.g., HL7, FHIR, CCDA), Big Data/ML/AI-related technology services for healthcare
-Comprehensive knowledge of data architecture principles, practices, and technologies, with an emphasis on current and emerging trends
-Demonstrated experience in leading the design and implementation of enterprise-wide data solutions that have significantly impacted business performance
-Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and direct teams towards achieving organizational goals
-Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of influencing high-stakes decisions
-Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively engaging with senior management, technical teams, and external partners
-Healthcare industry experience preferred
-Fundamental understanding of the Information Management principles, IT processes, SDLC, architecture and technologies adopted by an organization.
-Experience working in an Agile environment with Azure DevOps is a plus
