SHIFT: PRN / LOCATION: Tipton, IN

Join our Emergency Department team at IU Health, Tipton Hospital, a 9-bed critical access facility committed to delivering high quality, patient centered care in a fast-paced environment!

The EMT provides essential support in the care of both critically ill and stable patients within the Emergency Department.  Works under the supervision of the clinical RN, the EMT performs routine and specialized patient care procedures, assists with clinical tasks and ensures a safe and efficient environment for patient care.   Performs non-invasive procedures and basic life support functions such as, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), automated external defibrillation (AED), and bone splinting. 
High School Diploma/GED required, familiarity with standard patient care procedures and medical equipment, basic understanding of infection control practices, knowledge of EMTALA regulations, prior experience in a hospital or acute care setting preferred. 


• Indiana Certification as an Emergency Medical Technician issued by the Indiana Department of Homeland Security required or must be nationally certified and able to obtain the Indiana EMT Certification within 30 days of start of employment.
• Basic Life Support certification through the America Heart Association required.
• Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
• Requires Indiana State driver's license.
