About this role

Key Purpose

The Host/Hostess serves as the first point of contact for guests, creating a welcoming and positive experience that reflects the Guckenheimer brand. This role is responsible for greeting customers, managing reservations or event check-ins, and ensuring smooth guest flow during store events or hospitality functions.


Hourly Wage 

ISS Guckenheimer offers full-time employees a variety of benefits including medical, dental, life and disability insurance, as well as a comprehensive leave program based on employment status. The hourly pay range for this position is $15.00 per hour - $25.00 per hour


Work Hours

The work hours for this position may include afternoons, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.

  • Be able to anticipate customer needs, deliver on those needs, and exceed expectations
  • Identify service deficiencies and communicate effectively with managers before they become long-term issues
  • Demonstrate customer hospitality and service standards by providing excellent one-on-one customer service
  • Be reliable, responsible, dependable, and fulfill obligations

  • Ability to effectively communicate, motivate, and interact with all customers to help build and speak about the culture of Guckenheimer/ISS
  • Develop and maintain good relations with cooks, servers, porters, and managers
  • Greet, smile, make eye contact, and make customers feel welcome
  • Must be able to work cooperatively with all co-workers, treating them with courtesy and respect always


Ideal Candidate Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of customer service experience in fine dining and executive-level service
  • Ability to describe food menus and the preparation of a variety of nonalcoholic and alcoholic drinks
  • Knowledge of food principles and processes for providing customer service
  • Knowledge and skill in standard fine dining service techniques
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must act professionally to set an example for all others at all times
  • Must be able to take and organize reservations, use proper phone etiquette, and assign proper seating arrangements as needed
  • Must have a strong attention to detail


Key Accountabilities

  • Warmly greet and welcome guests upon arrival
  • Manage guest lists, reservations, and seating arrangements for events or store activations
  • Provide information about U.S. Polo Assn. products, promotions, and brand history when appropriate
  • Coordinate with team members to ensure timely service and a seamless guest experience
  • Maintain a clean and organized reception or event area
  • Handle guest inquiries and resolve minor issues promptly and professionally
  • Assist with event setup and breakdown as needed
  • Respond to customer concerns professionally and urgently per company policy
  • Must follow all safety rules and be actively aware and observant in the prevention of accidents
  • Commitment to the service values and ethics per the company’s standard
  • Assist internal and external guests, place requests, and answer inquiries in a friendly manner
  • Perform end-of-shift closeout tasks
  • Must follow other duties as assigned


Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Work up to 8 hours a day on your feet, excluding breaks
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 25lbs
  • Come to work properly dressed according to the dress code
  • Employees must be able to work under pressure and time deadlines during peak periods
