GMP Floor Care Technician


Hourly Wage

ISS offers full-time employees a variety of benefits including medical, dental, life and disability insurance, as well as a comprehensive leave program based on employment status. The hourly pay range for this position is $18.50 per hour-$19.50 per hour based on experience.


Work Hours 

The work hours for this position are Mon - Fri + Weekends, 6:00 pm - 5:00 am


Key Purpose

GMP Floor Care Technicians keep the overall floor maintenance of hard surface and carpet (stripping, waxing, buffing, shampooing, extraction & bonneting) of areas that include offices, corridors, lobbies, entrances, stairwells, and other public areas such as break rooms. Will also keep assigned areas, such as offices, commercial spaces, industrial spaces, or institutional buildings, in clean and orderly condition. You will work successfully with fellow employees, clients, and all levels of the organization while understanding and following instructions, both verbal and written; and explain how to complete a task using basic communication skills.

Ideal Candidate Experience

  • Ability to read, write, speak English, and communicate effectively
  • Minimum 1 ½ years’ experience in floor care
  • Related GMP manufacturing experience is preferred
  • High School diploma or equivalent education
  • Knowledge of how to strip, wax, and burnish floors with minimal to no assistance
  • Knowledge and experience operating various pieces of equipment such as high-speed buffers, extractors, wet vacs, pressure washers, and auto scrubbers.
  •  Janitorial or laborer experience in a facility setting is preferred
  • Must be a team player and committed to working in a quality environment
  • Demonstrates exceptional customer service skills


Key Accountabilities 

  • Perform sanitizations per GMP regulations in production areas (Mop and/ or wipe floors, wall ceilings, curtains, etc.)
  • Wear Full PPE for extended periods of time
  • Strictly adhere to Safety and GMP SOPs and perform related documentation clearly and legibly
  • Floor care, including routine mopping (dry and damp), buffing, and burnishing on hard surface floors and stairwells
  • Routine restroom cleaning
  • Maintenance of floor care equipment
  • Follow impairment procedures prior to performing work
  • Document all floor cleaning per the schedule provided
  • Perform daily audits to ensure floors maintain aesthetic appearance
  • Position requires shift, weekend, and holiday work; Overtime may be required at times

  • Perform repetitive tasks
  • Must be able to push and pull a minimum of 30 pounds
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 10 to 50 pounds
  • Frequently lift 0-10 pounds
  • Must be able to work under pressure and time deadlines during peak periods
  • Must be able to work in controlled environment with special gowning
  • No make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish or artificial fingernails allowed
