Iron Mountain is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Design Manager or Design Manager to join our Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) Design and Construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the design delivery of world-class data center projects and ensuring all design solutions are high-quality, innovative, and cost-effective. The EMEA Design and Construction team is dedicated to delivering cutting-edge data center infrastructure across the region.

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)
In this role, you will:

  • Lead the design process for data center projects, effectively managing third-party consultants and guaranteeing alignment with Iron Mountain's rigorous standards.
  • Collaborate with diverse internal teams—including Construction, Finance, Sales, and Operations—to validate project scope, budgets, and timelines.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational standards by providing oversight and reporting on key design and engineering elements, such as budget, schedule, and infrastructure activities.


What You’ll Bring (Skills & Qualifications)
The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in mission-critical design and/or similar high-tech, Mechanical and Electrical (M&E)-led industries (e.g., Nuclear, Pharmaceutical, Laboratory).
  • Strong knowledge of complex electrical, mechanical, life safety, and control systems associated with critical facilities or data centers.
  • Proven ability to provide strong leadership within multi-disciplinary design teams, leveraging a versatile background in roles like design consultancy or client engineering.
  • A University Degree in Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or an equivalent field.
