IQVIA Clinical Technology role overview

This position covers a defined territory, focusing on small and mid-size pharmaceutical, biotech organisations and CRO’s while also supporting the IQVIA CRO businesses with tailored solutions. The role combines strategic account management, business development, and partnership enablement to drive adoption of IQVIA’s Clinical Technology suite.

Key Responsibilities

Client Engagement & Business Understanding

  • Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships across the territory, positioning IQVIA as a strategic partner for eClinical technology solutions.
  • Develop a deep understanding of client priorities, organisational culture, product pipeline, and budget drivers to anticipate needs and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for client feedback, ensuring issues are resolved swiftly and proactively to maintain high satisfaction levels.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor, guiding clients through technology adoption and helping them achieve operational and strategic objectives.

Territory Growth & Operational Management

  • Drive business development within small and mid-size pharma and biotech accounts, identifying opportunities to expand IQVIA’s Clinical Technology footprint.
  • Support the IQVIA CRO channels with customised enablement strategies, ensuring alignment and maximising joint success.
  • Lead opportunity qualification and solution design, collaborating with internal teams (RFX, Pricing, Contracts, Solution Engineers, Product Specialists) to deliver proposals that meet client needs and timelines.
  • Oversee the full sales cycle with precision and agility, ensuring seamless execution from initial engagement to contract signature.

Strategic Positioning & Thought Leadership

  • Shape client perception of IQVIA Technologies by delivering impactful thought leadership, market insights, and innovative perspectives.
  • Introduce relevant IQVIA experts and facilitate peer-to-peer engagement to strengthen credibility and deepen relationships beyond transactional interactions.
  • Represent IQVIA at strategic reviews and key client meetings, positioning our technology as a differentiator that drives measurable outcomes.

Driving Innovation

  • Translate client priorities into strategic opportunities for IQVIA’s advanced technology solutions, ensuring alignment with evolving market needs.
  • Champion innovation by sharing success stories, best practices, and emerging trends within the sales and account management community.
  • Actively identify areas where IQVIA can deliver transformative value through AI/ML-driven insights, automation, and integrated digital platforms.

Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge of Clinical Technology solutions and their role in accelerating digital transformation in life sciences.
  • Minimum 5/8+ years’ experience in sales, business development, or account management within pharma, biotech, or related regulated industries.
  • Proven ability to engage and influence stakeholders at multiple levels, including procurement, operations, and mid-management.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a track record of driving growth and delivering complex solutions.
  • Exceptional organisational, planning, and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight timelines.
  • Highly collaborative, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
