With the assistance of microscopes and tweezers build components and sub-assemblies for high powered lasers following a set routine with specific procedures and instructions while operating machinery and standing at a workstation.. Schedule: Monday-Friday 7 am-3:30 pm.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, kit, install, and assemble components of fiber-optic medical products: optical fibers, ferrules, connectors, and packaging components
  • Operate manufacturing test equipment: fiber-optic strippers and cleavers, power meters, laser test stations, RFID readers, and microscopes
  • Use bonding materials: epoxies, glues, etc.
  • Perform basic setup, and troubleshooting of equipment as needed
  • Train other assemblers as assigned
  • Wear appropriate cleanroom attire, work in a controlled manufacturing area requiring coats, hair and beard nets, gloves, and booties
  • Use generic cleaning liquids (alcohol, isopropanol alcohol, acetone, etc.)
  • Maintain cleanliness of work and common areas
  • Cross-train in production process or area as assigned by the Supervisor
  • Meet assigned production metrics as defined by the Supervisor
  • Perform any and all other duties as assigned by the Supervisor
Qualifications
  • Must have good communication skills and be able to understand and follow verbal and written work instructions.
  • Regular and reliable attendance and the ability to work overtime are essential functions of this job.
  • Must be present and on time for work as scheduled.
  • Be able to work carefully, consistently and be able to identify errors.
  • Familiarity with PCs and Microsoft Windows, a plus but no required.
