IOTA GROUP, a leading Swiss International Technical Consulting firm specialising in the heavy industries, is currently looking to expand its team!
An onshore energy development project in Iraq is preparing to implement a fast-track gas treatment facility to valorize high-pressure associated gas that would otherwise be flared. The facility will handle significant volumes of associated gas while supporting ongoing oil operations. The project is strategically important for energy efficiency, environmental compliance, and national development goals.
The scope involves greenfield construction and pre-commissioning of electrical and instrumentation systems under challenging timelines, with high safety, technical, and operational standards. The role will operate in a rotational offshore/onshore schedule.
The E&I Lead will be responsible for:
Supervising and coordinating Electrical & Instrumentation construction activities directly with contractors.
Leading E&I work preparation and execution to ensure alignment with schedules and project milestones.
Preparing, reviewing, and validating construction methods and work instructions.
Ensuring all works comply with safety, environmental, technical, quality, budget, and schedule requirements.
Participating in risk analyses, reviewing procedures, and supporting work permit processes.
Managing subcontractors and ensuring effective allocation of manpower and equipment.
Monitoring progress, resolving technical issues on-site, and reporting to project management.
Organizing pre-commissioning activities, formalizing handover documentation, and ensuring accurate as-built records.
Supporting HSE activities by enforcing guidelines, conducting toolbox talks, and participating in Job Safety Analyses.
Contributing to asset integrity initiatives by reporting anomalies, defects, or practices that could impact safety or production.
The role requires strong coordination with multiple stakeholders and the ability to maintain professional contractor relationships while enforcing technical and operational standards.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction-related discipline.
10–15 years of experience in the oil & gas industry, with significant construction experience.
Strong knowledge of Electrical & Instrumentation construction, including greenfield and brownfield projects.
Familiarity with international codes, standards, and best practices in oil & gas construction.
Experience in SIMOPS environments is an advantage.
Proven ability to lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams in complex projects.
Excellent planning, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Strong communication skills in English; Arabic is a plus.
Ability to work on a rotational basis in challenging onshore/offshore environments.
The position will be based in Basra (Iraq) on rotational basis (4 On/4 Off)
Duration 6 months
