R&D ENGINEERING INTERN


The primary responsibility of a R&D Engineering intern is to assist the R&D engineering team with overflow projects related to the Marysville, MI pilot laboratories. The R&D Engineering Intern will be responsible for engineering projects and for providing support to the pilot operations team. The R&D Engineering Intern will report to the R&D Process Engineer.

Typical R&D Engineering Intern Responsibilities

• Supervised updating and creation of equipment layout, process flow, spare part and instrumentation drawings in 2D and 3D software.
• Translate 3D drawings into 3D printed parts through programming and operation of a 3D printer
• Assist with pilot equipment setup, operation and changeovers
• Troubleshooting of pilot equipment and process issues
• Assisting with writing work instructions and safety procedures.
• Assist with engineering projects.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS


• Capable of creating, modifying or optimizing designs and layouts with Solidworks and Draftsight software.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Demonstrate problem solving abilities.
• Capable of assisting with setup, operation and changeover of pilot process equipment.
• Capable of assisting with 5S organization methods.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

The following experiences represent the minimum amount and level of education, training and work experience needed to succeed as a R&D Engineering Intern:


• Completed 1 year of an engineering undergraduate program.
