IPG is looking for an energetic and passionate Human Resources Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Director of Labor Relations, the Human Resources Manager will lead the HR initiatives and employee relations at our Carbondale, Illinois plant.

This is an excellent opportunity for a collaborative and skilled HR business partner who is both strategic and hands-on. The ideal candidate will have HR leadership experience in a manufacturing and/or industrial environment and have solid coaching skills.

 

Overall Responsibilities

  • Directs and coordinates human resources activities in compliance with company philosophy, objectives, and legal requirements.
  • Partners with the Operations Manager and local leadership team
  • Recommends and directs the installation of programs and policies that create or reinforce a positive employee relations atmosphere.
  • Participates in corporate human resources activities and teams.
  • Promotes a positive work environment and people-focused programs and processes that foster continuous development and support of the facility.
  • Leads all HR activities for the Carbondale site including but not limited to recruitment, engagement, compensation administration, organizational development, and labor relations.

 

Educational and Experience Requirements

  • Degree in related field and/or minimum of ten years’ progressive experience in Human Resources in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills, tact, maturity, and flexibility
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with employee relations including coaching and resolving grievances
  • Conflict resolution skills, with the ability to gain trust and work through others to achieve goals
  • Strong problem-solving capability
  • Labor relations and collective bargaining experience is a plus
  • Collaborative and energetic with the ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Ability to work independently and in a high-paced team environment with changing priorities
