Warehouse Associate

What is the Role?

As a Warehouse Associate at Intersection, you will assist in maintaining responsibility for receiving incoming merchandise and preparing outgoing merchandise for delivery or shipping in the Long Island City Warehouse. They also load and unload merchandise using warehouse lift equipment, organize and store merchandise, as well as keep all storage areas clean and tidy.

You are highly motivated, reliable and dedicated, and able to work well in a team environment. You should have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and you must possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record. You should be Comfortable working in the elements year-round. Knowledge of Manhattan and the surrounding boroughs is a plus.

This is a full-time position. The hours are 7:00 am -3:30 pm, Monday through Friday.

Starting Hourly Rate for this role is: $19.50/hr 

What you will accomplish:

• Assisting warehouse staff in retrieving specified merchandise from storage as per the delivery or shipping orders.
• Preparing merchandise for delivery or shipping by packaging and labeling them accordingly.
• Moving all outgoing merchandise to the delivery area.
• Ensuring that all merchandise is properly secured in the delivery vehicles to prevent damage during transit.
• Maintaining accurate records of all incoming and outgoing merchandise.
• Utilizing warehouse lift equipment to load and unload merchandise as well as move, lift, or stack merchandise as needed.

• Ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work alone or with minimal supervision
• Ability to reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, bend or crawl
• Perform non-routine duties as assigned by a supervisor
• Safely operation light to medium duty company trucks
• Forklift Certified a MUST
