Limited Scope Radiologic Technologist (PRN) — Primary Children’s Hospital

Status: PRN (as‑needed) • Preference: Friday availability
Compensation: $20.67/hour
 

Make a difference in pediatric care. Join a mission‑driven imaging team serving children and families with compassion and excellence. In this PRN role, you’ll support a high‑performing department while gaining experience that positions you to advance to the Radiology Technologist Registered role as soon as you meet requirements.

What you’ll do

  • Practice within the scope of state licensure and under the supervision of a Registered Radiologic Technologist.
  • Maintain ARRT or modality‑specific competency in all clinical and technical functions.
  • Verify patient identity and orders; prepare patients and families for exams.
  • Perform diagnostic exams per department protocol; evaluate images for quality, clarity, and accuracy.
  • Follow radiation safety/ALARA guidelines; maintain a safe work environment.
  • Complete studies efficiently without compromising care or quality standards.
  • Educate patients and caregivers, ensure comfort, and address questions or concerns.
  • Apply infection control and sterile techniques consistently.
  • Operate imaging equipment and information systems to produce quality images.
  • Document accurately: patient information, procedures performed, and any adverse reactions.
  • Follow protocols for medical necessity, coding/charging, consents, QC programs, and reporting equipment issues.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a JRCERT or AMA‑approved school of radiologic technology with documented completion of clinical and didactic training as required by state regulations.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers (or ability to obtain prior to start).

Schedule & work pattern

  • PRN / as‑needed coverage with a strong preference for Friday availability.
  • Additional shifts may be offered based on patient volume and department needs.

Growth & advancement

  • Intent is for the caregiver to progress to Radiology Technologist Registered as soon as eligible. You’ll gain hands‑on pediatric experience, mentorship from experienced RTs, and exposure to standardized protocols to support your advancement timeline.
