Job Description:
The Computer Operator-Senior is responsible for daily computer systems operations, as well as timely and accurate processing of information through the computer systems. This position is responsible to setup new user accounts on the iSeries (AS400) and to alter / troubleshoot current iSeries accounts. Required to setup all non-employee, contracted employees and students for Physician Tandem, HELP2, internet access, and setup and maintain all group mailboxes in Active Directory.Please note that a video interview through Microsoft Teams will be required as well as potential onsite interviews and meetings.

Job Essentials
1. Maintains an appropriate work environment and cleans the hardware in the Operations room. Develops and follows preventive maintenance routines.
2. Maintains accurate and complete records during shift (e.g., problem documentation and actions taken, computer utilization logs, file identification, etc.) that are required to supplement console log.
3. Operates the facilities computers in such a manner that all requested processing is completed in an accurate and timely manner.
4. Generates accurate and timely reports, some on a regular basis and others as needed or requested by user departments.
5. Performs backups of system files and software, according to department policies and procedures.
6. Maintains adequate inventory levels of operating supplies such as stock paper, toner, diskettes, printer ribbons, etc.
7. Acts as a technical resource for operation of single computer system and provides training for the other computer operators.
8. Interprets system error messages and troubleshoots system interface problems (i.e., IBM to Tandem, etc.). Works with users to solve basic peripheral equipment problems and facilitating system functions affecting end users.
9. Sets up computer access for all non-employees and contracted workers with Tandem, HELP2, internet access, user accounts for email / group email, Windows IM and Wireless Office.
10.Maintains group email accounts in Active Directory and maintains accurate and complete records of all user setups.
11.Provides Telecom support, setup and troubleshoot pagers for users.
12.Communicates status and concerns of projects with supervisor and all interested groups.
Job Specific
Minimum Qualifications
Four years of experience or training with IBM iSeries, Tandem, or comparable computer systems.
