About this role

TITLE: Work Program/Student - Programming Intern

 

POSITION OBJECTIVE: This person’s primary responsibility is programming, coding, troubleshooting, and optimizing in house software.  Secondary responsibilities include end user support, scripting, and software/system upgrades.  Other responsibilities are documentation and can include some general systems related tasks.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Some technical training/college is preferred
  • Knowledge in any of .Net, VB, ASP, Perl, C#, SQL, or equivalents
  • Some experience with Linux
  • Basic understanding of PC/server hardware/software
  • Windows / Linux / DOS
  • Effective written and verbal communication
  • Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
  • Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coding, troubleshooting, and optimizing in-house software
  • Scripting for communications, backups, and scheduled tasks
  • MySQL statement queries and optimization
  • Data Analysis
  • Software documentation
  • Logging support calls and daily tasks
  • Informing IT Manager in a timely manner of IT related issues
  • Special projects as directed by the IT Manager
  • Complies with all SQF procedures
  • Reports any food safety problems to a member of management or SQF Practitioner

 

OTHER SKILLS / ABILITIES

  • Attention to detail and effective communication
  • Requires the ability to understand the rapidly changing technical environments of the information field

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION:

  • Manufacturing environment
  • Hot and Cold temperatures
  • Loud noises
