TITLE: Sr. Extrusion Technician

 

POSITION OBJECTIVE: Report to Sr. Lead/ Supervisor in supporting FlexPack Department operations and to produce the highest quality product meeting the customer specifications through safe operation of the equipment

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Prefer some computer and administrative skills.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Prefer 3 years in the Plastic Industry with Blown Film, Converting or Extrusion experience.
  • Good analytical and planning skills.
  • Must be familiar with report writing and preparation.
  • Must have an understanding of Cost, and Cost Control.
  • Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
  • Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reports to Sr. Lead/Supervisor.
  • Reports to Sr. Lead/Supervisor on production status.
  • Participate in and support/enforce all safety programs, SQF (Food Safety) and rules.
  • Responsible for insuring quality guidelines, procedures, and operating standards are adhered to during operation of production lines for maximum efficiency.
  • Resolve all maintenance issues promptly to maximize productivity.
  • Responsible to ensure the proper training of Flexpack personnel regarding safety, quality, production goals and job duties.
  • Periodic meetings to discuss safety, quality, productivity and any policy changes, equipment modifications or additions, and address any problem areas or questions.
  • Learn to maintain accurate shift records.
  • Develop and maintain a work environment conducive to teamwork.
  • Know and perform all Ext. Tech. "A" duties correctly and safely.
  • Know how to troubleshoot all production lines in department.
  • Pass all Master Training courses with minimum score of 80.
  • Any other duties or responsibilities as deemed necessary by Sr. Lead/Supervisor.

 

TRAINING:

  • Refer to Master Training Plan
  • Any other courses for Management, Technical, or administrative as directed by Management

 

AUTHORITY / DECISION MAKING:

  • Ensure THM Housekeeping and SQF (Food Safety) is followed in all areas.
  • Ensure Safety, SQF (Food Safety) and Plant policies are followed.
  • Makes line adjustments or troubleshoots to correct problems arising on the line. Monitors quality to assure product conformity to Customer Specifications.
  • Ensure paperwork is completed at shift end and attend shift meetings if needed for on coming shift to explain any problems that might have occurred.
  • Attend ongoing training for production and OSHA.
  • Assist Senior Lead with any duties as required.
  • Quarantine Ticket/Hold Tag - Has the authority to complete and remove if nonconformance has been corrected.
