TITLE: General Worker B

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

To assist the Extrusion department with monitoring extrusion line. Maintain Plant cleanliness and enforce Operation Clean Sweep.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One (1) year of experience in an extrusion department.
• Good oral, written, and organizational skills.
• Basic math and computer skills.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist  Scheduler with entering customer orders on the production instructions.
• Maintain front office, restrooms, and breakrooms according to 55 Standards.
• Print out pallet ticket from the paperless system.
• Review and verify that formulations are correct.
• Transport pallets from the line to staging areas
• Assist Shipping Department with staging, loading trailers, and inventory.
• Communicate with Assistant Shift Supervisors / Leads when problems arise.
• Maintain a clean working area / environment throughout the Plant.
• Assist Front Office and shipping with finished goods year-end physical inventory.
• Maintain/order all cleaning supplies for the Plant.
• Help to keep all products within Profile QC standards, making the necessary adjustments as needed.
• Maintain Profile’s recycling program.
• Always keep all Profile products clean and dirt free.
• Complete any other task assigned by Superiors.
• Must have regular, reliable attendance, and willing to work outside the regular schedule as required.
• Willing to handle job stress and interact with others in the workplace.

TRAINING:

1. • On-the-job training with Lead Operator and Assistant Shift Supervisor.
   • Inteplast Basic Required Training (OSHA)
   • Inteplast Basic Required Training (Safety)
   • ISO Awareness – The Basics
   • Forklift certification

AUTHORITY / DECISION MAKING:

1. • Monitor extrusion line.
   • Monitor Technicians to enforce Operation Clean Sweep.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:

• Climbing, ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms.  Body agility is emphasized.

• Balancing, maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery or erratically moving surfaces.
• Stooping, bending body downward and forward by bending spine and waist. Example:  Changing paper in printer, copier machine.
• Kneeling, bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.
• Crouching, bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.
• Crawling, moving about on hands and knees or hands and feet.
• Reaching, extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. Example:  Giving signals, reaching for material or handle on item.
• Standing, particularly for sustained periods of time. Example:  Making copies, giving presentations, directing traffic.
• Walking, moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances.
• Pushing, using upper extremities to press against something with steady force to thrust forward, downward or outward.
• Pulling, using upper extremities to exert force to drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.
• Lifting, raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position. (5 lbs. to 50 lbs.)
• Fingering, picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working primarily with fingers rather than the whole hand or arm as in handling.
• Grasping, applying pressure to an object with fingers and palm.
• Feeling, perceiving attributes of objects such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips.
• Talking, expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; via face to face or telephone.
• Hearing, perceiving the nature of sounds with no less than a 40 db loss @ 500 Hz, 1,000 Hz and 2,000 Hz with or without correction.  Ability to receive verbal communication and to make fine discriminations in sound, such as when making fine adjustments on machined parts.
• Repetitive motions, substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands and/or fingers. Example:  Filing, sorting mail, starting ignition of machinery.

VISUAL ACTIVITY REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:

• Visual acuity: Clear vision at various distances, allowing the operator to see pallets, obstacles, and other workers clearly. 
• Depth perception: The ability to judge distances accurately, essential for maneuvering the forklift close to objects and aligning the forks with pallets. 
• Peripheral vision: A wide field of view to detect movement on the sides and behind the forklift. 
• Color vision: Ability to distinguish colors for safety signage and potential hazards. 
• Pre-shift inspection: Forklift operators should always perform a visual inspection of the forklift before operating it, checking for any damage, fluid leaks, or tire issues. 
• Mirrors and cameras: Utilizing additional mirrors and cameras can help improve visibility in blind spots.
