TITLE: Forklift Driver A

POSITION OBJECTIVE: To load out bound shipments in a sufficient manner with quality service.  Unload shuttles, transfers, internal products as required. Maintain inventory and housekeeping

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Forklift experience or certification
• Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
• Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Load pallets/materials according to shipment assignments
• Load or unload shuttles, internal transfers
• Deliver pallets to production or other departments
• Inventory, AS400
• Inspect and maintain forklifts, working areas and docks
• All aspects of preparation for the outbound shipments

WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION:

• Ability to read digital displays, tape measurement
• Subject to extreme cold, temperatures below 32 degrees for periods of more than one hour
• Subject to extreme heat, temperatures above 100 degrees for more than one hour
• Subject to noise, moving machinery, and/or electrical currents
• Possible exposure to some chemicals, gases high heat
• Subject to unregulated atmospheric conditions caused by odors and dust
• Subject to vibration, exposure fluctuating movements of the body

TRAINING:

• Forklift certification
• All training assigned by Supervisor/Department

MACHINES, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT, ELECTRONIC DEVICES & SOFTWARE:

• Forklifts, conveyors, dock ramps/doors, computer, and scanners

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:

• Climbing ascending or descending stairs, ramps, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms.  Body agility is emphasized
• Stooping, bending of spine and waist
• Kneeling and bending of legs at knees
• Sitting and standing for sustained periods of time
• Reaching, extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction
• Walking, moving about on foot to accomplish task, particularly for long distances
• Pushing, using upper extremities to exert force in order to drag, haul or move objects in a sustained motion
• Lifting, raising objects from a lower to higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position.  Degree of lifting: 5-50lb
• Fingering, picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working primarily with fingers rather than the whole hand or arm as in handling, typing with fingers
• Ability to hear and talk, expressing or exchanging ideas by means of spoken word.  Via face to face or telephone.
• Ability to differentiate colors.
• Repetitive motions, substantial movements (motions) of the wrist, hands and/or fingers.  Example: filing, sorting mail, starting ignition of machinery

VISUAL ACTIVITY REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:

• Color code labels, shipment labels, inventory labels
• Visually check labels to pallets, product codes, vendor label
