TITLE: Sr. Extrusion Technician -  D Crew 6 pm to 6 am

 

POSITION OBJECTIVE:  The Extrusion Technician Sr. is responsible for following procedures for product assembly, equipment operation, outline basic responsibilities and safety requirements as documented in the company’s quality system manual, the employee handbook and specific job instructions.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Able to read, write and speak the English language. 
  • Hands on experience will be considered. They must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to run current jobs ran on all machines for 12 hours/day.
  • May have the opportunity to obtain a Certified Forklift License
  • Must develop troubleshooting skills with material handling equipment.
  • Must successfully meet the performance expectations to qualify and hold position of Extrusion Technician C.
  • Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
  • Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Material supply to the machine is the priority.
  • Responsible for training new employees or employees unfamiliar with new production requirements, assembling and handling products, equipment and materials per the Production Department and company’s system procedures.
  • Inspecting parts and processing products, handling equipment and material per the job book.
  • Responsible for daily cleaning of material hoppers, loaders and other equipment as assigned; as well as, maintaining housekeeping around press, silo lines, blender and work area.
  • Accurately complete production paperwork.
  • Identify and document scrap, raw materials and products produced.
  • Package and palletize products per job book.
  • Relief of the operators during breaks.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

TRAINING:

  • On the job training.

 

MACHINES, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT, ELECTRONIC DEVICES & SOFTWARE:

  • Structural Foam and High-Pressure presses
  • Blenders/Mixers
  • Hand tools to include – snap blade, rasper, clippers, putty knife, swivel knife
  • Drills, impact guns, staple guns, banders and rework skids

 

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:

  • Climbing, ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized.
  • Stooping, bending body downward and forward by bending spine and waist. Example: Changing paper in printer, copier machine.
  • Kneeling, bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.
  • Crouching, bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.
  • Reaching, extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. Example: Giving signals, reaching for material or handle on item.
  • Standing, particularly for sustained periods of time. Example: Making copies, giving presentations, directing traffic.
  • Walking, moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances.
