About You:

The Director of Patient Access Liaisons is a field-based leadership role responsible for building, developing, and managing a high-performing team of Patient Access Liaisons who support providers, care teams, and patients in navigating reimbursement and overcoming access obstacles for lonvo-z.

This role serves as the operational backbone of the patient access function—translating strategy into execution, ensuring consistent field excellence, and delivering insights that strengthen the broader market access and launch strategy. The Director partners closely with the Senior Director and cross-functional partners to drive site readiness, identify and resolve access challenges, and ensure that every patient who is prescribed lonvo-z can start therapy.

This is a career-defining opportunity to lead a team within the first-ever commercialization of an in vivo one-time CRISPR based therapy, requiring the vision and ingenuity to work in uncharted territory in genetic medicine.

Responsibilities:

Patient Access Strategy and Execution

  • Contribute to and translate strategy into actionable field plans and operational workflows for the PAL team.

  • Oversee execution of site profiling, access readiness assessments, and activation support for new infusion centers or prescribers.

  • Ensure PALs effectively educate provider staff on coverage, coding, billing, prior authorizations, appeals, and financial support resources.

  • Partner with Hub Services and case management leadership to ensure PALs escalate and resolve patient-specific access issues.

  • Track patterns in denials, coverage gaps, payer behaviors, and operational friction points—communicate trends to the Senior Director and cross-functional teams.

Stakeholder Collaboration and Field Alignment

  • Work cross-functionally with Strategic Account Leads, Payer Account Team, Market Access & Policy, Medical Affairs, and Commercial leadership to ensure seamless coordination and aligned field presence.

  • Serve as the primary internal conduit between the PAL team and payer/market access leadership, ensuring field feedback informs strategy and payer insights inform field execution.

  • Support training and alignment with provider networks, infusion centers, specialty pharmacies, and external reimbursement vendors.

  • Oversee and contribute to the development of training curriculum to ensure team preparedness for field execution.

  • Contribute to the development and refinement of field tools, access resources, and educational materials.

Reporting, Insights and Field Governance

  • Ensure that all PALs adhere to compliance guidelines and maintain accurate documentation of activities in accordance with SOPs.

  • Deliver timely reports on field activity, access barriers, payer trends, patient journey obstacles, and site readiness progress.

  • Develop dashboards and operational metrics to measure field performance, response time, issue resolution, and patient access outcomes.

  • Participate in launch readiness, scenario planning, and cross-functional business reviews.

Team Leadership and Management

  • Recruit, onboard, develop, and lead a team of high-performing Patient Access Liaisons across the U.S.

  • Provide ongoing coaching and skills development in reimbursement education, access troubleshooting, provider engagement, and documentation best practices.

  • Set clear expectations, KPIs, and call plans to ensure consistent, compliant, and high-quality field execution.

  • Conduct regular field visits to observe interactions, provide coaching, and ensure message consistency.

  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and patient-centricity.

About You:

  • Strong and deep understanding of reimbursement, coding, billing, claims processing, and payer dynamics for infusion-based therapies in the U.S.

  • Experience leading or managing field reimbursement, patient access, or market access teams.

  • Ability to navigate complex reimbursement pathways, including single case agreements and CGT (cell and gene therapy) access models.

  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to inspire, coach, and develop field personnel.

  • Results-driven, highly organized, and comfortable leading teams through ambiguity and rapid change.

  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills across a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical capability to interpret trends, assess site readiness, and develop actionable insights.

  • Deep commitment to compliance and a high-integrity, patient-centric mindset.

  • Ability to travel frequently to support PALs, sites, and cross-functional team needs.

  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, business, healthcare administration, or related field; advanced degree preferred.

  • 10+ years of experience in field reimbursement, patient access, market access, or related roles in biopharma or healthcare.

  • 3–5+ years of leadership experience, ideally managing field reimbursement or access teams.

  • Prior U.S. launch experience required.

  • Experience with cell and gene therapy or other complex, highly specialized therapies required.

  • Experience in rare disease and/or HAE strongly preferred.
