The focus of this role is to be part of a team of pre-silicon power and performance engineers to verify new and existing features for Intel's next generation high-performance CPU products and interconnected interfaces, resulting in end-to-end power-performance correlation. You will be responsible for exhaustively validating the RTL implementation of new architecture and microarchitecture capabilities using a combination of standalone and top-level test environments from a power-performance standpoint.

Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Develops, enables, and continuously optimizes power, thermal, and performance validation and optimization testing tools and methodologies.
  • Incorporates end-to-end content for power, thermal, and performance validation and optimization.
  • Writes automation scripts to execute validation content using automation, data collection, visualization, data mining, and analysis methods.
  • Characterizes and optimizes products for power, thermal, and performance.
  • Defines and optimizes validation automation tools and scripts to establish hardware functional health under both nominal and PVT (process, voltage, temperature) conditions.
  • Increases execution efficiency and enhances pathfinding insights for the validation and optimization team.
  • Improves validation and testing software quality through innovations in processes, tools, automation, and data management.
  • Participates in debugging efforts to identify root causes of platform, firmware, software, and SoC issues.
  • Collaborates with architecture, design, verification, software, firmware, and power/thermal/performance teams to:
    • Understand configuration requirements
    • Deliver programming specifications
    • Ensure correct system software configuration of hardware
  • Implements scripts to automate validation tests.

Note: This is a temporary 1-year position.

Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 6+ months of experience working on product level power and performance analysis and optimization.
  • Intermediate to advanced English level.
  • Must have unrestricted - permanent right to work in Mexico (The position is not eligible for employment-based visa/immigration sponsorship).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expertise and deep understanding in the areas of silicon power, transistor/device physics, power modeling and measurement, active power management.
  • Background with the market segments of datacenter is preferred.
