About this role
This position is responsible for creating a safe and secure environment for employees, patients, visitors, and property of the Inspira Health Network. Security officers will provide proactive and reactive security patrols and response to incidents. Inspira security officers will provide excellent customer service and will be able to competently work with people who are under stress and/or in need of medical assistance. Works with the Environment of Care committee to ensure a multi-disciplinary approach to safety, security, workplace violence and emergency management.
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- 6 months of security experience.
- (3) years’ experience in law enforcement, private security or investigations preferred.
Certification/Licensure:
- Valid driver's license required and adherence to Inspira's Fleet policy.
- Basic Security Officer Certification (IAHSS) required within 1 year of hire.
- Inspira Health approved de-escalation and common language training required within 100 days of hire.
- American Heart Association BLS required within 100 days.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Ability to effectively interact with hospital employees, visitors, patients, contractors, and volunteers.
- Ability to effectively manage the responsibilities and duties of the position and the department.

- The Security Officer is responsible for creating a safe environment for employees, patients, and visitors while providing proactive and reactive security patrols. They will also respond to incidents and work with the Environment of Care committee on safety and emergency management.
