About this role
MAJOR FUNCTION:
Supports the mission, vision, and philosophy of the nursing department. The RN must be knowledgeable of the policies and procedures of the department. To provide care to childbearing women in a safe and nurturing environment and with consideration given to age and developmental level. The RN is responsible for the coordination of the patient’s care, performing intake of antepartum patients and patients seeking preconceptual assessment. Provide Antenatal Diagnostic Services to at risk perinatal population of our community. Assist Perinatologist with diagnostic testing as well as routine non-stress testing of prenatal patients. The RN must have the ability to implement the plan, to supervise others with the implementation and assess its effectiveness. The RN provides education to our antepartum patients.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience:
- You must be enrolled in a BSN or MSN program from an accredited school of professional nursing within six months of hire or rehire and graduate on or before the third employment anniversary date into a nursing position. BSN or MSN graduates preferred
- Grandfathered Exemption of Educational Requirement:
- Hired on or before May 31, 2013 -- IMC
- Hired on or before August 4, 2015 – IMCW
- Hired on or before May 31, 2023 – IMCM
- Basic Fetal Monitoring and dysrhythmia, Advanced Fetal Monitoring preferred.
- Prior maternal child health experience required.
- L&D experience preferred.
Certification/Licensure:
- Current License with New Jersey State Board of Nursing. BLS required.
- National certification required within 3 years of hire.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Demonstrated nursing clinical competence and basic leadership skills.
- Must be able to work independently with little supervision.
