As our operation continues to grow rapidly, we’re looking for a driven and dynamic AM Warehouse Shift Manager to join our Borehamwood site and support our ongoing success.</p><p>In this pivotal role, you’ll oversee morning warehouse operations, leading and motivating both warehouse colleagues and drivers to ensure smooth, on-time departures and deliveries. You’ll be responsible for coordinating driver activity, managing handovers, resolving operational issues, and maintaining clear communication between transport and warehouse teams.</p><p>Your strong people management skills will be essential in meeting deadlines, maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and compliance, and driving continuous improvement across the operation. If you’re passionate about leading teams, managing driver performance, and delivering outstanding service in a fast-paced logistics environment, we’d love to hear from you.<strong><br></strong></p><p><strong>📍&nbsp;Location:</strong>&nbsp;Unit 1, Elstree Distribution Park, Elstree Way, Borehamwood WD6 1RU </p><p><strong>📅&nbsp;Shift Pattern:</strong>&nbsp;Any 5 out of 7 days a week</p><p><strong>🕒&nbsp;Hours:</strong>&nbsp;06:00am - 15:00pm</p><p><strong>💰&nbsp;Salary: </strong>£35,000 - £37,000 depending on experience </p><p>&nbsp;<strong><br>What you’ll be doing:</strong></p><p>Lead Your Team: Inspire, motivate, and manage your section of warehouse staff and couriers/drivers to consistently hit productivity targets and meet customer deadlines.</p><p>Driver Coordination: Schedule, monitor, and support your assigned drivers, ensuring on-time departures, accurate parcel deliveries, and resolving any issues on the road.</p><p>Section Ownership: Take responsibility for your section’s workflow, ensuring labelling, sortation, scanning, and parcel loading processes run efficiently and accurately.</p><p>Plan and Forecast: Manage staffing for your section, including rotas, breaks, and annual leave, to ensure full coverage and smooth morning operations.</p><p>Operational Excellence: Identify areas for improvement within your section, implement process improvements, and maintain high standards of quality and efficiency.</p><p>Handover and Reporting: Provide clear and detailed handovers to the next shift manager to ensure continuity and seamless operational flow.</p><p>Team Development: Lead inductions, provide ongoing coaching, training, and support to your staff and drivers, building a skilled and motivated team.</p><p>Safety and Compliance: Uphold Health &amp; Safety standards, ensure all team members complete mandatory training, and maintain a safe working and driving environment.</p><p>Resource and Budget Management: Monitor resources, manage costs, and resolve operational challenges to keep your section running effectively and within targets.</p><p>Problem Solving: Quickly address any operational issues or delays, supporting drivers and staff to maintain smooth, on-time service.</p><p>Customer Focus: Ensure your section delivers parcels efficiently and accurately, contributing to a positive customer experience.</p><p>Culture and Engagement: Foster a positive, high-energy work environment where team members feel valued, accountable, and empowered to perform at their best.<strong><br></strong></p><p><strong>What we need from you:</strong></p><p>At least 1 year of hands-on experience working in a fast-paced Distribution or Logistics environment, with a solid understanding of the operational challenges and dynamics unique to this sector.</p><p>Proven track record in people management, successfully motivating and leading teams to consistently achieve and exceed performance targets.</p><p>Demonstrated ability to drive and surpass operational KPIs, delivering measurable improvements that contribute to the overall efficiency and success of the operation.</p><p>A calm and focused mindset that excels at prioritizing daily tasks and maintaining composure under pressure, while consistently producing high-quality results.</p><p>Strong problem-solving skills grounded in practical, common-sense decision-making, enabling quick and effective resolution of operational issues.</p><p>Proficient in essential computer software and systems, confident in navigating digital tools critical to warehouse and logistics management.</p><p>Exceptional time management and communication skills, with the ability to meet strict deadlines while engaging, inspiring, and supporting your team to perform at their best.</p><p>Right to work in the UK, ensuring eligibility for employment without restrictions.<br></p><p><strong>Perks of the job!:<br></strong></p><p><strong>We love to reward our people for the great work they do:</strong></p><p>🪴 Build a secure future with a competitive Pension Scheme</p><p><strong>🌟</strong> Peace of mind with Life Insurance</p><p>🚴 Stay active with our Cycle2Work scheme</p><p>🤝 Get the support you need with our Employee Assistance Program<br></p><p><strong>The InPost process:</strong></p><p>We pride ourselves on our candidate experience.
