About this role

Inova Franconia-Springfield Healthplex, Emergency Room is seeking an experienced RN to join our team who is looking to transition into the Emergency Department. Eligible Nurses will qualify for sign on & relocation bonuses.

Full-Time, Night shift (7pm – 7am). During orientation will rotate through all shifts (Days, Mids, and Nights).

*This position is ideal for Experienced Nurses looking to change specialties. Required to go through & complete a 12-16 week Emergency Fellowship upon start. Start date: March 16th, 2026.

This Free-Standing Emergency Unit services the local community:

  • 24-hour lab testing and radiology including X-ray, CT scan and ultrasound
  • 4-5:1 patient to nurse ratio
  • Emergency nurses certified in advanced cardiac life support (ACLS)
  • Ventilator trained nursing and EMT staff
  • Board-certified emergency physicians

Emergency Room Nurse Fellow Responsibilities:

  • Provide knowledgeable and caring clinical practice and care coordination through an understanding of patient, family, nurse, and healthcare delivery team.
  • Conduct all patient care in a patient and family-centered manner.
  • Use an integrated approach toward patient outcomes
  • Utilize standards, guidelines, and pathways for care delivery.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience: Requires a minimum of one year of Registered Nurse clinical experience in the acute care setting.
  • Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associates Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
  • License: Must be RN licensed, or eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia as an RN.
  • Certification: BLS from American Heart Association 
  • Proficient in English. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to display a caring demeanor toward others
  • Proficient computer skills required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strongly prefer 2 years plus of Acute care or Critical care RN experience or Anyone with less than 2 years of ED experience.
  • CEN/ACLS certification desired
