The team
You’ll be part of the CoE Performance and Reward team in Amsterdam: a group of 10 experienced professionals supporting Retail, Wholesale Banking, Tech, and Corporate Staff Departments. We combine expertise with pragmatism - partnering with stakeholders at all levels, staying close to market trends, and using technology and data to move from insight to action.
You’ll report to the Head of Performance & Reward Netherlands and work closely with our Global Performance & Reward colleagues onsite. It’s an international context where independence is trusted, collaboration is expected, and delivery matters.
Roles and responsibilities
In this position, you will lead and deliver core performance and reward activities that keep ING competitive and responsible.
Advise on job grading, interchangeability assessments, and salary and variable remuneration structures.
Manage cyclical compensation and performance management activities from planning to execution.
Oversee and review variable remuneration plans and analyse reward and performance data to support decisions.
Develop, implement, and improve policies, processes, and tools - ensuring they are current, competitive, compliant, and well understood across the organisation.

Lead with expertise in Workday Advanced Compensation to streamline cycles and improve user experience.
Bring 6+ years’ impact in performance management & reward within a multinational or consulting setting, handling systems, policies, data, and senior stakeholders.
Translate data into action: reward data analysis, data processes, systems, and reporting - linked clearly to performance management.
Apply grading expertise (Korn Ferry Hay) and interchangeability assessments to ensure consistent, fair outcomes.
Communicate with clarity - including storyboarding in PowerPoint - to influence decisions and enable execution at pace.
Partner effectively across functions and levels, balancing strategic thinking with hands‑on delivery.
